While backpacking through Florence, Italy, during the summer before she heads off to college, Lucy Sommersworth finds herself falling in love with the culture, the architecture, the food...and Jesse Palladino, a handsome street musician. After a whirlwind romance, Lucy returns home, determined to move on from her "vacation flirtation." But just because summer is over doesn't mean Lucy and Jesse are over, too.
In this coming-of-age romance, April Lindner perfectly captures the highs and lows of a summer love that might just be meant to last beyond the season.
My sincerest thanks to the publisher for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I am so excited to kick off this mini blog tour! Christie & I, along with three of our book loving friends, had the opportunity to read this book after the publisher sent us several copies for our YALLFEST Blogger Gathering. After the five of us read the book together & discussed it, we decided to put together this tour to share our love of LOVE, LUCY by April Lindner.
I will be linking up the other posts in the tour as soon as they go up, so be sure to check back! And be sure to stop back by on Friday when Christie shares her thoughts on the book.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to read an early copy of this book. Love, Lucy is such a great coming of age story that doesn’t leave you hanging in the romance department. It’s about more than just finding yourself, it’s about taking charge of your own life and making the choices that are right for you, regardless of others may think.
Lucy is off on a wonderful European adventure with all expenses paid by her father who negotiated with her in order to have her set her own dreams aside and chase his instead. As her vacation comes to an end and her college career is about to begin, Lucy meets Jesse, a young musician from New Jersey who has taken his life into his own hands and is living in beautiful Italy. As Jesse and Lucy get to know one another, Jesse helps Lucy see that her dreams of acting aren’t as silly as her dad has left her to believe. Jesse pushes her & tries his best to encourage her to chase her own dreams, and not the dreams her businessman of a dad.
I loved going on this European adventure with Lucy. There were parts of the story that frustrated me, or more specifically, character moments that frustrated me, but as I continued to read, I found myself enjoying the pace of the story & the character development. It was nice to have the story start at the end of Lucy’s vacation and then come back to her starting her college career and getting to know her more. I loved seeing her begin to piece her life back together & gain her confidence back. She’s a character that anyone, especially young adults can relate to.
This was one of those stories that I pictured in my head as if it were a movie. It reminded me a little of the movie Chasing Liberty starring Mandy Moore & Matthew Goode that I love so much. Both having the same premise, but with their own special flare.
If you enjoy a story that takes you on an adventure & has strong character growth, then I highly recommend you read Love, Lucy. You’ll be seeking a European adventure & a whirlwind of a romance all your own once you finish reading it. As for me, after reading this book, I am excited to check out more from author, April Lindner.
Four out of five stars.
