Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives. In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . . But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there's still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure—and re-education—looms larger than ever. Pulses will race throughout this smoldering fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

Let me start by saying, if you haven’t read the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, please do so. IMMEDIATELY. Then watch the movie coming out. Next, proceed directly back to the bookstore, or your Amazon one click button and purchase the spin off series, The Bloodlines series: 1. Bloodlines 2. The Golden Lily 3. The Indigo Spell…….which brings us to 4. THE FIERY HEART!! By the time you make it through the beautifully addictive lexicon by Richelle Mead, the fifth book in the series will be out!

For those of you who are familiar with the series, Adrian Ivashkov is my vampire baby daddy. I adore Rose and Dmitri from the VA series, but Adrian worked his way into my heart and I was over the moon when they decided to do a spin off series that included him!! The Bloodlines series is every inch as phenomenal as its predecessor. That being said, Book #4 in the series, The Fiery Heart, does NOT disappoint.

Mead drives us further into the meat of this witty and provocative storyline. Mead’s character development is phenomenal, and you love the secondary characters just as fiercely as the primary characters. Mead’s vampire world is inventive and original, and the Bloodlines series introduces us even more fantastical aspects of this world.

A few more non spoiler words on The Fiery Heart……….Adrian, Adrian, Adrian. While there is some significant cliff hanger action at the end of the book, rest easy, new readers to the series. By the time you make your way through the Vampire Academy novels, and the three preceding novels before The Fiery Heart, the fifth installment, The Silver Shadows will be out in July. For those veterans of this series, get busy. Adrian is disappointed in you! 🙂

Five out of Five Stars

 Happy Reading!

I have already been wanting to read the Vampire Academy series, seeing the movie trailer, then reading Face Time Friday and now this have confirmed it and bumped it to the top of my infinite TBR pile. I have the first book, and we have book 6 at the shop. We also have Bloodlines. Guess I’ll have to hide those where no one can buy them before I read them ;).
