For those of you who are new to Turning Pages, FaceTime Friday is a weekly feature we do to keep in touch and discuss books, movies, and more!
This week has been a wonderful look back at this year of blogging adventure. And that look wouldn’t be complete without talking about the blog feature nearest and dearest to our hearts, FaceTime Friday! FTF is a special feature for us in sooooo many ways. Though Heather and I talk every day, for general conversation and to collaborate on the blog, the months between our visits tend to get long, and the idea for FaceTime Friday was born. It was the perfect excuse to get in some actual face to face time with one another while working on a feature for the blog.
Our very first FTF was on August 9, 2013. The subject matter? The movie versus the book adaptation of The Host by Stephanie Meyer. Among the torrent of giggles at the mostly inappropriate things we had to say about Max Irons, one of which we posted, we got to share and compare the movie adaptation of one of our favorite books in our unique, quirky, and endearing way. When FaceTiming to discuss all the FaceTimes we’ve done before, Heather and I decided that our two favorites, aside from the special place the first FTF holds in our hearts, would be our City of Bones FTF and Pride and Prejudice FTF. We got to gush over a modern literary boyfriend, and a literary boyfriend of old.
We’ve gotten to do live remotes and cover movie premieres for some of our favorite book/movie adaptations. Heather was down in Alabama for City of Bones, and we got to do that one together. Our other favorite live remote was the FTF we did covering our trip to Charleston, SC for Y’ALLfest in November of this year. We got to revel in all our fangirl glory. And photo document it for your enjoyment.
We love this feature because we feel like it captures the magical dynamic of our friendship, and lets you get to know the nerdy fabulousness that is Heather and Christie. So thank you, dear followers for reading our FTFs, thank you authors and movie producers for giving us material to entertain you with.
Be sure to enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a hardback copy of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and continue to join us for the zany hijinks that ensue each Friday!
