Armchair BEA 2013: DAY TWO Blogger Development + Genre Fiction

Design Credit: Nina @ Nina Reads
Day TWO of Armchair BEA 2013 and it is all about blogger development! If you missed day ONE post, you can find my introduction here. In this post, Christie and I will talk a little bit about what we hope to see with our blog as we continue on in our blogging journey.

Blogger Development.

We love books. We love to read. We want to share our passion and knowledge of the written word. We love to write.

Turning Pages is still just a baby in the blogging world (almost 6 months old), but already, it has surpassed our expectations. I (Heather) originally started this blog solo back in January of this year. I wanted to share my love of books with whoever cared to read and listen and back in April, Christie (cousin/BFF extraordinaire) joined me. We are both extremely passionate about the written word and also writers ourselves. This blog has been a way for us to remain close, especially since we live states apart, but also a way to meet other people who love books just as much as we do.

We have grown to love the blogging community and even though we are still learning the ropes, we hope that those who check out our blog, love it just as much as we do. We are always open for suggestions and any advice any other fellow bloggers care to give us. We can’t wait to see what the next 6 months has to offer us as we continue this blogging journey. Turning Pages is in it for the long run and so are we. 🙂

Genre: Fiction

We are both huge fans of fiction. It is almost impossible for us to pick our favorite(s), but we will share with you our current favorites when it comes to the world of fiction…

Heather’s current fiction favorite.
Christie’s current favorite fiction/classic

Happy Reading.

How fun for cousins to be blogging together! I haven’t read The Selection yet, but loved The Great Gatsby.

It’s been a blast! We don’t get to see each other very often, but will be reunited this weekend!

The Selection is a great book – even got my mom hooked on it! And Gatsby is magnificent! Can’t wait to see the movie!

It’s always nice to see a group effort blog, I think it gives you more perspectives and view points. If you’re looking to develop a bit more you could always set goals (x number of posts a month, try one new genre a month, etc) and make ample use of Twitter. The first year of blogging is the hardest because you’re still trying to find your voice(s) so take it slow & you’ll remain awesome! Tattooed Books
