A sexy, standalone novel from the New York Times & USA TODAY bestselling author of the Play-by-Play series and Hope series.

Ellie Washington lost her husband in a tragedy five years ago at Christmas. She wouldn’t have made it through her grief if not for her husband’s brother, Nick, who helped her pick up the pieces of her shattered life. And with every year, her feelings for Nick have grown. Now she realizes she might be in love with him, but that’s not fair, because Nick deserves a life that isn’t about his brother’s widow and son.

Sharing his life with Ellie and her son has been the balm that soothed Nick’s soul after losing his brother. Now that friendship has turned into something deeper. Nick doesn’t want to upset the status quo, but someone has to make the first move, and it’s time they figure out if their feelings are real. Nick believes in what they have. He also believes in Christmas miracles, and he thinks they’re both long overdue for one.

With the holidays approaching rather quickly and it being my favorite time of year, I was thrilled to read a holiday contemporary romance a little early in the season. Even though it was still rather warm outside when I read it (think NC and its bipolar weather..), it helped get me ready for the cooler temperatures and holiday decor coming my way.

Love Me By Christmas by Jaci Burton is a heartfelt read that covered all the basis of a well-written contemporary romance. Ellie suffered a devastating loss five years ago when her husband died tragically, but in the meantime, has gained so much. Her brother-in-law instantly took her in, as she was months away from the birth of her first child. Since then, they have found their rhythm in living together and raising Ellie’s son. However, the holiday season is especially hard for her, and Nick wants so much for Ellie to overcome her grief and to move on. But for Nick, that doesn’t necessarily mean go out and date some random guy(s), but rather to date him. Their friendship has obviously flourished into more for him, but can the same be said for Ellie?

Ellie is conflicted with these feelings she’s been experiencing when it comes to Nick, her deceased husbands brother. I mean, how could she move on with him? What would her in-laws think? Would her son be confused? After fighting her emotions for some time, she finally gives in, but not without back and forth hesitation.

Love Me By Christmas is a healing story filled with hope, romance, and that juicy happily ever after those who love a good contemporary romance look for. If you’re ready to curl up under a cozy blanket and get in the holiday spirit with a good book, then this is just the read for you!
