Top Ten Tuesday | Ten Favorite Heroines From Books

Screen Shot 2014-12-28 at 8.54.45 PM

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the
fabulous ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish.

1. Hermione from the Harry Potter series

Why? Because she’s beauty & brains. And let’s face it…she could kick some serious ass.

2. Katniss from the Hunger Games trilogy

Katniss the the epitome of someone who perseveres & comes out on top. No matter what crap she deals with, she still fights for what she believes in.

3. Tris from the Divergent trilogy

Like Katniss, she fights for what she believes in. However, she’s unique in her own heroic way. She fights for freedom and she believed in herself enough to over come obstacles when the Dauntless leaders thought nothing of her.

4. Mia from If I Stay

She has an inner battle with whether to stay with those who love her here or go and be with her family who passes. That’s a battle I’d struggle with myself, and yet she overcomes so much & learns so much about herself through one of the most difficult experiences of her life.

5. Clary  from The Mortal Instruments series

She knows she’s unique, but isn’t sure why. When life throws her a serious curveball and she’s thrown into a world she knows little about, she grows so much & accepts any challenge thrown her way.

6. Meadow from The Murder Complex

I love Meadow because of her fierce presence. She’s been trained to survive & has an attitude about her that can be terrifying, but also has a soft side that show’s her more vulnerable side.

7. America from The Selection series

America is my kind of gal. She stays true to herself throughout the series, but shows an abundant amount of growth throughout the books. I admire her for not conforming, but her ability to stand out even when she’s off in the shadows.

8. Rose from the Vampire Academy series

Her humor and fierceness are what I love most about her. I’d love to be friends with Rose.

9. Luce from the Fallen series

Even though it’s been some time since I’ve finished reading this series, I always think of Luce when it comes to some of my favorite literary heroines. She’s determined & is faced with a difficult choice, yet is able to overcome so much.

10. Tessa from The Infernal Devices series

Basically, this girl is kick-ass all while maintaining her poise & elegance. Kudos, Tessa.

  1. Andrea Buginsky

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. She’s at the top of my list. I would also include Hazel from #TFIOS and Bella from Twilight. I know a lot of readers turn their noses at Bella, but look how far she came throughout the series.
