A brilliant, luminous story of first love, family, loss, and betrayal for fans of John Green, David Levithan, and Rainbow Rowell
Jude and her brother, Noah, are incredibly close twins. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude surfs and cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them. But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and divisive ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as an unpredictable new mentor. The early years are Noah's story to tell. The later years are Jude's. What the twins don't realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they’d have a chance to remake their world.
This radiant, fully alive, sometimes very funny novel from the critically acclaimed author of The Sky Is Everywhere will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.

A big thanks to the publisher at BEA for the ARC!
Years ago, when I first read The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson, I immediately fell in love with her style of writing and longed for something more from her. When I found out she had a book coming out this year, I squealed with excitement. Now, image that excitement when I found out she would be at BEA AND there would be a galley drop of I’ll Give You The Sun. I was through the roof! And here is something else to image….as a first time BEA-goer, I walk into the exhibit hall, make a right, make a left, and suddenly….a GIANT stack of I’ll Give You The Sun galleys are right there in front of me. I could have left BEA then and there and would have been happy just to have that book. Of course, I didn’t leave. How could I?
After coming back from BEA, there was no question that my first read would be I’ll Give You The Sun. Sure it took me a little over a week to get through it, but that’s because I purposely dragged it out. I didn’t want it to end! Oh my word, it was phenomenal and everything + more that I hoped it would be. I laughed, I cried, I felt every single emotion the characters felt. Jandy blew me away in this novel, the same way she blew me away in her first.
I absolutely loved that the story was told from each twin’s perspective, but at different points in their life – Jude at 16 and Noah at 13 & 14. This allowed me to the get to know both Jude and Noah as they grew into their own person, aside from being each other. I adored both of them in their own way and fell in love with the story through the eyes of each of them.
There were so many elements of this story that I want to go into detail about, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone! I seriously cannot wait for this book to come out in September so I can discuss with everyone the phenomenal writing that is Jandy Nelsons. If you haven’t read her first novel, The Sky is Everywhere, I HIGHLY recommend that you do before this one hits shelves. You’ll completely understand what I mean after you read it. Her writing is inspirational and has this ghostly element that chills you down to the bone. I love it!
This book is easily one of my top reads of 2014….and it’s only June. 🙂
Five out of five stars!
PS. If you’ve read this one, let’s discuss!
