A new series returns to the world of Beautiful Creatures. Some loves are cursed...others are dangerous.

Ridley Duchannes will be the first to tell you that she's a bad girl. She's Dark. She's a Siren. You can never trust her, or even yourself when she's around. Lucky for her, Wesley "Link" Lincoln can never seem to remember that; quarter Incubus or not, his heart is Mortal when it comes to Ridley. When Link heads to New York City to start a music career, Ridley goes along for the ride-and she has her own reasons. As if leaving small-town Gatlin for the big city, trying to form a band, and surviving life with a partially reformed Siren isn't hard enough already, Link soon learns he has a price on his head that no Caster or Mortal can ever pay.

Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the #1 New York Times bestselling coauthors of Beautiful Creatures, are back and casting another magical spell. Their signature mixture of mystery, suspense, and romance, along with a dash of fun and danger, will pull fans in and leave them begging for more.

I received an eARC from the publishers via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

When I first found out that Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia were working on a spinoff series for Beautiful Creatures surrounding Link and Ridley, I got so excited. As much as I loved Beautiful Creatures and the story of Ethan and Lena, I was so excited to read more about Ridley and Link and get to know them more as characters. As the Siren and the Incubus.

At first, I struggled really getting into the flow of the story. Partly because it’s been awhile since I’ve read the Beautiful Creatures series so I had to give myself time to adjust and really take in the fact that this series is entirely it’s own “beautiful” yet dangerous creation.

Dangerous Creatures takes you deeper into the magical and mystical world of Sirens, Incubuses, Casters and more. While we get a tiny bit of Ethan and Lena, it is apparent that this book is all about Link and Ridley and a great one at that. Ridley stands out and draws you in, just like a siren is suppose to, and Link keeps you cracking a few smiles and laughs at his ridiculously adorable witty comments.

One of my most favorite aspects of Dangerous Creatures would be seeing a more softer and delicate side to Ridley as well as the childhood flashbacks of moments between her and Lena. You also get more insight to Link and Rid’s complicated relationship. The best way to describe their relationship would be a beautiful disaster. It’s perfect in it’s own messed up way and I just loved every bit of their complicated lives.

At first, I was nervous about the story stepping outside of Gatlin, SC and making it’s way up to NYC. However, Stohl and Garcia managed to carry the southern gothic charm all the way up to the Big Apple.

I am already so excited to see where Link and Ridley take us next, especially after the ending of Dangerous Creatures. Stohl and Garcia sure know how to keep their readers thirsty for more!

4.5 out of 5 stars.
