Top Ten Tuesday | Top Ten Things on Our Reading Wishlist

toptentuesday

If a dream is a wish your heart makes, as a reader/writer, I’m going to offer that a book is an obsession that your brain makes. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We all have them. Books that we wish we, or a favorite author, would write. Thus, the topic of this week’s Top Ten Tuesday: Ten books that we wish were written. Someone tell the Fairy Godmother to get out of the pumpkin patch and make with the Bibbity Bobbity Boo on the page.

Christie & Heather’s Top Ten Reading Wishlist:

  • 1. YA Historical Fiction dealing with pharaoh era Egypt. The Luxe Series by Anna Godberson was my first experience with historical YA fiction, and I adored it. I’d love to see something from this time period.

  • 2. Stephenie Meyer’s finished version of Midnight Sun

  • 3. YA novel dealing with Irish folklore

  • 4. 1920s Historical YA fiction

  • 5. J.K. Rowling to write a novel dealing with the children of the initial series characters

  • 6. Gayle Forman to write a third book about Adam and Mia

  • 7.ย  Any of the Mortal Instruments novels by Cassandra Clare told from Jace’s POV

  • 8. Another book from Holly Black about Roiben and Kaye

  • 9. Pirate themed YA novel

  • 10.ย  YA romance set during the Holocaust

These are some of fictional desires we would wish in fruition if we could score a couple of rubs on a genie inhabited lamp. What are some things that you’d like to see transformed from reading wish into reality?

#9- James Patterson wrote a children’s book entitled Treasure Hunters. Its not exactly YA, it’s targeted more towards middle school aged, but I am currently reading it “with” my 8 year old to encourage him to read more. I won him over with the pirate theme, I was won over because it was James Patterson…..here is the goodreads synopsis:

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Middle School, the Worst Years of My Life and I Funny comes a brilliantly original new adventure series, jam-packed with action, humor, and heart!

The Kidd siblings have grown up diving down to shipwrecks and traveling the world, helping their famous parents recover everything from swords to gold doubloons from the bottom of the ocean. But after their parents disappear n the job, the kids are suddenly thrust into the biggest treasure hunt of their lives. They’ll have to work together to defeat dangerous pirates and dodge the hot pursuit of an evil treasure hunting rival, all while following cryptic clues to unravel the mystery of what really happened to their parents–and find out if they’re still alive.
