FaceTime Friday | Eclipse Edition

Welcome to FaceTime Friday! Something we came up with
to help us keep in touch – as if we need another way – and a great way to discuss our favorite topics. Books | Movies | & More. In case you missed last weeks FaceTime Friday, click HERE for our New Moon Edition.

So the past two weeks, we haven’t had a FaceTime Friday, but that’s okay. Sometimes life gets in the way. 🙂 But this week, we are picking up where we left of in our Twilight edition of FTF by discussing Eclipse

Favorite quote from the book. . .

I have many favorite quotes from this book, mainly because it was one of the most romantic out of the series. I just loved how Edward and Bella’s relationship took on a whole new level in Eclipse. This would probably be one of my favorite quotes. .
“And the sound of your heart,” he continued. “It’s the most significant sound in my world. I’m so attuned to it now, I swear I could pick it out from miles away. But neither of these things matter. This,” he said, taking my face in his hands. “You. That’s what I’m keeping. You’ll always be my Bella, you’ll just be a little more durable.”

“Dream happy dreams. You are the only one who has ever touched my heart. It will always be yours. Sleep,my only love.”

*Side note: Heather has this quote on a home-made pillow case. True story.*

Likes about the book/movie. . .

We were able to learn more about secondary characters such as Rosalie and Jasper. It was nice to learn about both of their pasts and what made them who they are as vampires.
*Rosalie’s hair finally improved from the first two films, but Jasper’s hair still creeped us out a little.*

We like how Bella held her own in this book. She stood her own ground and didn’t allow for herself to be influenced by her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob.

Just before the fight with the newborns, after Bella and Jacob kiss, Edward comes back into the tent and Bella tries to seduce him there in the tent. It’s a sexy/funny/quirky scene that would have been nice to see in the film adaptation, along with her obviously trying to seduce him in the Edward/Bella sleepover scene.

Speaking of the sleepover scene. THAT PROPOSAL! Holy crow, it was sweet, romantic, and really conveyed the depth of Edwards love for Bella. It definitely was the perfect consolation prize for him turning down some love making.

So with that being said, this is our favorite scene from the movie:

Dislikes in the movie. . .

#1 : Kristen’s wig. Yes, we understand that she had to dye her hair black and chop it off for The Runaways and her portrayal of Joan Jett, but the wig was terrible. Just terrible.

#2: Different Victoria. Not to say Bryce Dallas Howard didn’t do a good job, but there is just something about the continuity of a character.

We considered Eclipse our favorite book, because it dealt with a majority of the rising climax of the series. With that being said, Breaking Dawn seems to have an entire story arc within itself.

What are your thoughts? Did you find yourself considering Eclipse your favorite book in the series, aside from Breaking Dawn?

Happy reading!
