to help us keep in touch – as if we need another way – and a great way to discuss our favorite topics. Books | Movies | & More.
In case you missed last weeks FaceTime Friday, click HERE to see our thoughts on Pride & Prejudice.
*WARNING: WE HAVE A TENDENCY TO GET OFF TOPIC*
This week is part 1 in a 2-part series in which we dedicate to The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
So yes, City of Bones is out in theaters BUT we are holding out until next weekend when we are reunited so we can watch it together. Next weeks FaceTime Friday [part 2] will be our first movie remote and will consist of pictures of us in our movie gear and we may even introduce you to one of our fellow Shadowhunters, Amanda! It may actually be posted on Saturday, but we’re sure you won’t mind, especially when you see photo proof of our Shadowhunter get-up.
Our love for the books is what connected us in the first place. Back in 2009, I (Heather) made my first trip to AL to visit my husband’s (then boyfriend’s) family. While visiting, I met Christie, who is actually my husbands cousin, but I claim her as my own. We hit it off and instantly connected over our love of books. Christie then sent home with me the first three TMI books, which were the only ones out at the time.
Since then, our friendship has only strengthened and evolved into us becoming blogging partners and pretty much sisters. Our love for the books themselves has resulted in our intense relationship with Jace Wayland, giving him fictional boyfriend status along with Edward Cullen, Mr. Darcy, and the list goes on and on.
*DISCLAIMER: WE EDIT THIS A LOT BECAUSE WE DON’T REALLY HAVE FILTERS. IF WE VIDEOED THIS, IT WOULD BE SOME HIGH QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT THAT MIGHT RESULT IN SOME PEOPLE HATING US AND/OR NOT UNDERSTANDING OUR SENSE OF HUMOR.*
Back in December 2011, Christie joined me in NC for a short road trip to SC to meet Cassandra Clare for a book signing. Since then, I (Heather) have met her one other time last November at YALLFest.
In preparation for my trip to AL next weekend to view TMI on the big screen with Christie, we have purchased our fair share of Shadowhunter paraphernalia so stay tuned for those embarrassing pictures next weekend. If there is one thing you need to know about us, we go all out on the fan girl status.
Speaking of fan girl moments, we have our fair share of embarrassing stories that involve a state trooper named Ira J. Whitehead, glitter, vampire fangs, and a silver van full of Twilighters. True story.
As for the cast, WE LOVE THEM ALL. Perfectly casted and we are thrilled to see Jamie, Lily, Robbie, and everyone else bring the story to life. And let us not forget about Godfrey portraying Magnus. We love us some Magnus.
All of our catchphrases dealing with TMI, involve THE MANGO. We love THE MANGO.
*PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE, DO NOT SPOIL IT FOR US*
So, we hope you have enjoyed our random chatter once again and we hope you stop by for part 2 [next week] that will involve our thoughts and reactions to the movies and some fabulous pictures.
Now, for the conversation!
Have you seen the movie? In one word, what did you think about it?
If you haven’t seen it, do you plan on seeing it?
